CELEBRĂRI

Holy Mass

The Holy Mass is celebrated every Sunday from 12:30. In the holidays, the celebration of the Holy Mass is scheduled for different hours, mentioned in the parish calendar. For details, please see the Calendar page.
Holidays of Saints that did not schedule St. Mass during the week will be celebrated on the nearest Sunday.

Confession or Confession

Confession or Confession – Every Sunday, believers can confess before the beginning of St. Liturgy, between 12.00 and 12.30. Exceptionally, at certain times of the year, an extended program of confessions may be announced.

baptisms

The Holy Mass is celebrated every Sunday from 12:30. In the holidays, the celebration of the Holy Mass is scheduled for different hours, mentioned in the parish calendar. For details, please see the Calendar page.

Baptisms are usually celebrated from 14.00, on the first Sunday of each month, with the possibility of decalation depending on the Holidays.
We also invite you to consult the Calendar or Calendar page.

In the case of children’s baptism, parents ( or at least one of the parents ) must be members of the parish. Baptismal godparents must be practicing Catholics ( of any rite ) or at least one of them. If the godparents attend another parish, a recommendation from the priest of the Catholic parish they attend is required.

The preparation for Botez is done a month in advance, together with the parents and godparents. Both parents and godparents are urged to confess early before baptism.

From a practical point of view, for baptism, it is customary to bring a candle, a large white towel and white clothes for the newly baptized. It is customary for godparents to make a donation, as far as possible. For more details, please contact the parish priest, Ionel Maier.

Saint Mir (Confirmation)

Saint Mir ( The ) confirmation is received in our Church at Baptism. Children of our Church attending a Catholic school can participate in the preparation for the Confirmation that is customary to be done in the Roman Catholic Church for 8th grade children.
They can also participate in the solemn celebration, when other children will receive St. Mir, being aware that they received St. Mir since Baptism, and that the Mystery of St. Mir is unique, and like Baptism, it does not repeat itself. The famous bishop or priest will give them a special blessing according to the guidance of the Archdiocese of Toronto.

For this it is necessary for the parents to have an enlightening discussion with the priest of the parish to which the school belongs before the beginning of the training and possibly, if necessary, to contact Father Ionel Maier.

Preparing children for the first Confession and receiving the Holy Communion

Preparatory meetings take place on Sunday before the Mass, as follows: November and December: guidance for parents, January, March, April – preparation for children, in May – First Confession and Ceremony of the solemn reception of the Holy Communion at the Holy Mass. At the first meeting, which is addressed especially to parents, which takes place in early November, you must bring: the completed registration form and a copy of the child’s baptismal certificate.

If for various reasons it was not possible to enroll children in advance or to participate in the preparations, we will do our best to receive them in training together with the others who will prepare next year.

weddings

Weddings are celebrated on Saturdays over the year. According to the ordinances of our diocese, as a rule, the appointment of weddings must be done 6 months in advance, and weddings on Sundays must also be excluded. When scheduling weddings, the periods during which „ No Weddings ” mentioned in the calendar must be taken into account.
At least one of the future spouses needs to be faithful to our parish. Future spouses are also required to attend „ Pre-marital training course ” at Catholic Family Services www.cfsofto.org or a Catholic parish offering this course. It is also very important that the two confess before receiving the Sacrament of Holy Wedding.

From a practical point of view, for the wedding, it is customary to bring two candles, a white ribbon, wine ( or honey ) and biscuits. For more details, please contact the parish priest, Ionel Maier.

The Holy Anointing or the Anointing of the Sick

The Holy Anointing or Anointing of the Sick can be received by a believer suffering from a serious illness, or is in danger of death due to illness or old age or before serious surgery.
The same believer may receive it again when the disease worsens or becomes ill with another serious illness. The celebration of this sacrament must be preceded, as far as possible, by the individual confession of the patient.

The patient’s anointing can be done at the hospital, at the patient’s house or if possible, at church. Please contact the parish priest, Ionel Maier as soon as possible if someone is ill and needs the Sacrament of the Holy Anointing.

Parastasului order

The order of the Parastas ( the commemoration of those asleep ) is usually officiated on the last Sunday of each month at St. Liturgy, there is the possibility of decalation according to the Holidays. The order of the Parastas is also made at St. Mass in the days dedicated especially to the remembrance of those asleep such as Lazarus’ Sambata or November 1. Periods are excluded when „ no ” parastases are made mentioned in the calendar.
We also invite you to consult the Calendar or Calendar page.

From a practical point of view, for Parastas, a coil ( memorial service ), a bottle of wine, a candle and a list of the names of those asleep for whom the remembrance is made must be brought. It is customary to offer a donation, according to the possibilities of each.

Sphes or sanctification of the house

The sanctity or sanctification of the house is officiated at the request of the faithful, preferably on Sunday after St. Liturgy. Please contact the priest to determine the right day together.
At home, the family should prepare a ( large or small ) tablecloth covered with a ( preferably white ) table. Place a ( bowl ) on the table with water to be sanctified, a candle and an icon. A list of people who want to be mentioned in prayers can also be prepared. If desired, the family can make a donation.

Upon arrival of the priest, the family will guide him to the place where the meal was prepared. Together with the family members gathered around the table, the priest will pray for the blessing of the house and those present. At the end of the prayer, the priest will bless the house with holy water and one of the family members will indicate the places and rooms that wish them to be blessed. It is desirable that the lights be on and the doors open ( except for the bathrooms ). It is also customary for the priest to make the Sign of the Holy Cross with the candle, preferably on one of the walls from the east.

Blessing Houses and Families (Epiphany)

It is good for the family to know the tropar of the holiday both to understand its meaning and to sing with the priest when he goes from room to room blessing the house:

In Jordan baptizing you, Lord, the worship of the Trinity was shown: that the voice of the Father confessed to you, Son loved you calling you, and the spirit in the form of corn proved the strengthening of the Word. He who showed yourself, Christ God and the world enlightened you, magnification to you. (Tropar )
